The Hustle Community is a community to support the lives of performing artists in the UK.
We connect actors, singers, dancers and variety performers with the services and work you need to sustain and develop your careers.
Here are the guidelines for publishing posts to the community:
Not Allowed #
- Housing – Please add to “The Hustle Homes”
- Fundraising
- Network Marketing, MLM, Direct Marketing.
- Travel Tickets
- Performer Individual Self Promotion (Like my page, etc.)
- Sales – Dancewear, costume, performing arts books only.
- Ticket Sales – Plays / Musicals only.
- Vague Business “Opportunities”
- Haircut, colours or other hair services – Free Only
- Product Review Requests
Jobs #
All work must be paid National Living Wage or above.
Unpaid collaborations between artists are allowed but “Collaboration” must be stated in the post.
Rates must be specified as follows: (“Good rates”, “Well Paid” etc. does not suffice.)
- Promo: £10/h minimum
- Teaching: £25/h minimum
- Event Performing / Speciality: £150 per day minimum
- Service Request: Must state “Please quote your rates.”
- Casting: Indication of rates must be given e.g. “Equity Minimum”, “Above Equity”. Otherwise exact rates must be specified with usage fees / buyouts included for recorded media.
Castings & Auditions for performance work is always free to publish on the group. To hire staff for any other type of work including Teaching, Promo, Events, Office Temping, Bar Staff etc you must be a registered advertiser.

Other Information #
- Don’t request emails in comments, members must direct message or email you to respond.
- No company shaming. Honest negative feedback is welcome but stick to the facts. Profanities and insults won’t be approved.
- All workshops, classes or social events must be listed in our Community Events Calendar and the link to the listing included in your post.
- To promote your service to the group, including Photography, Vocal Coaching, Massage & Physio, Web Design, Coaching etc you must be a registered advertiser.
